Bekasi City Government Starts PTM 50 Percent Next Week
BEKASI - The Bekasi City Government, West Java has started to enforce a limited face-to-face learning (PTM) policy with a maximum capacity of 50 percent of students early next week in order to prevent the potential transmission of the new type of corona virus that causes COVID-19.
"It was supposed to start on Friday (4/2) but because the letter was a bit late, it will only start on Monday (7/2) with a 50 percent face-to-face and 50 percent distance learning scheme," said Acting Mayor of Bekasi Tri Adhianto, quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 5th.
He said the 50 percent PTM policy refers to the Circular of the Acting Mayor of Bekasi number: 421/1022/SETDA.TU regarding guidelines for implementing learning at PPKM Level 2 COVID-19, following up on the Circular Letter of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 2 of 2022 regarding the discretion to implement decisions with four ministers.
"In this case, parents or guardians of students are given the option to allow their children to take part in limited PTM or PJJ (Distance Learning)," he said.
Tri stated that this policy applies to all levels of education, from early childhood education units to high school.
"Although the responsibility for developing high school is in the provincial government, but because the schools are here, they follow the rules that have been set in Bekasi City," he said.
He asked the Bekasi City Education Office to coordinate with all relevant stakeholders to supervise and guide the implementation of limited PTM.
Starting with ensuring strict application of health protocols by education units in Bekasi City, conducting behavioral surveys of compliance with health protocols and epidemiological surveillance in education units.
Then the acceleration of COVID-19 vaccination for educators, education staff, and students, as well as ensuring the temporary suspension of limited PTM based on the results of epidemiological surveillance in accordance with the provisions in a joint decision of the four ministers.
With the enactment of this circular, the Bekasi Mayor's Circular Letter Number 421/936/Disdik.Set regarding the implementation of limited PTM for the 2021/2022 academic year is declared revoked and invalid.
