More Than 500 People Witness The Lion Dance Attraction, Festival Citylink Bandung Mall Is Sealed, Fined Only Rp. 500 Thousand

BANDUNG - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) sealed the Festival Citylink mall for three days as a result of the crowds during the lion dance attraction during the Chinese New Year celebrations.

Bandung City Satpol PP Head Rasdian Setiadi said the mall, which is located on Jalan Peta, Bandung City, West Java, was sealed until February 6, 2022. The mall was said to have violated the Bandung Mayor's Regulation.

"On February 6, the sealing was completed and opened after paying a fine of Rp. 500 thousand," said Rasdian in Bandung, West Java, Antara, Friday, February 4.

According to him, if a mall has a capacity of more than 1,000 people, the maximum limit of people who can visit the mall is only 500 people.

Meanwhile, the phenomenon of crowds of people during the lion dance attraction last Tuesday was allegedly attended by more than 500 people.

In addition to violating, the activity that caused the crowd was not licensed because there was no notification to the relevant parties or to the local COVID-19 Handling Task Force.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Trade and Industry Service (Disdagin), Elly Wasliah, said that the presence of a crowd in the lion dance attraction activity was a serious violation of health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Even though it was sealed, according to Elly, the convenience store in the mall is still allowed to operate. Because the supermarket provides the basic needs of the community.

"Frankly, as a mall builder, I was shocked, sad too, for two years seemed to be in vain, because a speck of tilapia was damaged in a pot of milk," said Elly.

According to him, Disdagin has delivered a stern warning to all mall managers in Bandung City after the phenomenon of the crowd.

"We will continue to monitor, we will also instruct the mall leadership if there are any activities, they must inform us," he said.
