PDIP Doesn't Carry Any Candidate in the West Sumatra Election After Parting with Mulyadi
JAKARTA - Chairman of the West Sumatra PDIP DPD, Alex Indra Lukman, stated that he doesn't nominate anyone in the 2020 Regional Election in West Sumatra.
"We are not carrying a candidate pair. It means, we're absent from the election process. Regarding support, we are waiting for the DPP Party's instructions," Alex told reporters, Sunday, September 6.
Alex said, the absence of PDIP in the contest for the Governor of West Sumatra was decided after the candidate for Governor of West Sumatra, Mulyadi, returned the recommendation file for PDIP support (form B1KWK).
"Yesterday, the representative of the candidate pair returned B1KWK to us. Thus, this chaotic drama has reached its end. The PDI-P DPD, in this case, doesn't participate in the 2020 Pilgub," said Alex.
Alex will take the attitude of being absent from the party's DPP. Because, according to him, politics is not just about winning or losing. However, it is more to maintain political values.
"We are not involved in this problem. Since the beginning of the pandemic, until now, and in the future, West Sumatra PDI Perjuangan will continue to work together to carry out social services to ease the burden on the affected community," he said.
As previously known, PDIP was in the spotlight. The Chair of the PDIP DPP, Puan Maharani, made a controversial statement to the people of West Sumatra. The people of West Sumatra also feel angry and offended.
Several days later, the candidate for governor and deputy governor of West Sumatra, Mulyadi-Ali Mukhni, stated that he returned the recommendation letter from the PDIP.
