Jakarta Again Holds 50 Percent PTM Today, Parents May Decide Their Children To Study At Home

JAKARTA - Starting today, Jakarta is again holding limited face-to-face learning (PTM) with a capacity of 50 percent of students. This 50 percent PTM has been applied for one semester from July to December 2021.

The implementation of this learning system follows the central government's decision to allow PPKM Level 2 regions to change 100 percent of PTM to 50 percent.

This policy actually does not fully fulfill the wishes of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan. Anies proposed to the central government to stop PTM 100 percent and students fully implement distance learning (PJJ).

The Head of Public Relations of the DKI Education Agency, Taga Radja Gah, said that although PTM was still being implemented, parents could decide for their child to take PJJ because they were worried about the transmission of COVID-19 amid the current increase in cases.

Parents of students, said Taga, were asked to fill out a form for their child's willingness to take part in face-to-face learning at school or study online.

"This is very open for parents to choose whether their child comes to PTM or PJJ. It is highly respected and not forced," said Taga on Thursday, February 3.

When the central government announced this new policy, the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Education Office in the field of schooling immediately disseminated to school principals throughout Jakarta to discuss the 50 percent PTM mechanism.

"After that, the principal will socialize in their respective school groups. We have networking networks from the provinces, sub-districts, to each school," said Taga.

Thus, the method of implementing learning is through blended learning, namely learning in class and learning online. In a week, PTM is held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Meanwhile, on Tuesday and Thursday, disinfectant was sprayed throughout the school environment.

The face-to-face learning time for each level is as follows:

a. SMA/SMK equivalent maximum 35 minutes x 5 hours of lessons (175 minutes a week)

b. Junior high school equivalent maximum 35 minutes x 4 hours of lessons (140 minutes a week)

c. Elementary school equivalent maximum 35 minutes x 3 hours of lessons (105 minutes a week)

d. PAUD maximum 30 minutes x 2 hours of lessons (60 minutes a week)

Class conditions that apply face-to-face learning:

a. SMA, SMK, MA, MAK, SMP, MTs, SD, MI, and learning equality programs by maintaining a minimum distance of 1.5 meters and a maximum of 18 students per class.

b. SDLB, MILB, SMPLB, MTsLB, and SMLB, MALB learn by maintaining a minimum distance of 1.5 meters and a maximum of 5 students per class.

c. PAUD learns in a class by maintaining a minimum distance of 1.5 meters and a maximum of 5 students per class.
