West Papua Police Arrest 3 Viral Men Wearing Police Attributes For Joking On TikTok
MANOKWARI - The Cyber Team of the Special Criminal Directorate (Dit Reskrimsus) of the West Papua Police has arrested three civilians in Manokwari on suspicion of misuse of Polri's attributes for jokes on TikTok social media.
The Head of Sub-Directorate for Indications of the Dit Reskrimsus Polda West Papua AKBP Bendot D Prasetyo, confirmed the use of Police uniforms by three civilians by performing dancing scenes on the TikTok social media video.
"In a 19-second TikTok video that has gone viral in the Manokwari area since January 31, it is clear that three men were wearing police uniforms and dancing. The video had troubled other residents," said Prasetyo, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 3.
He said that from the results of the video inspection and the taking of information from the three civilians, it was known that the attributes of the Police worn belonged to their family members who had recently become members of the Special Autonomy Police.
"The uniforms they wear belong to their family members who have just graduated as members of the National Police, so the euphoria of celebrating it is excessive," he said.
The three civilians were only given a warning and have made a statement not to repeat the same thing in the future.
"We urge the public, if you want to express yourself on social media or in public, go ahead, but you must be wise and polite," said Prasetyo.
Prasetyo said the results of the cyber team's investigation had secured evidence of 3 pairs of PDL shoes, Polri uniforms, Polri hats, and 1 cellphone.
