His Son Was Robbed And Now Unconscious, The Family Is Confused About Paying Hospital Fees In Medan Which Reaches Rp. 110 Million

MEDAN - A teenager victim of a robbery on Jalan Captain Sumarsono named Indrajit Dermawan (17), is now lying in the ICU room at Bunda Thamrin Hospital Medan.

The burden of care must be borne by his mother, Nurjannah, a widow with 6 children. In addition to having to think about the cost of treatment which is quite large, the condition of his second child who became the brutality of the robbers has been unconscious for the past five days.

The burglary took place on Saturday, January 29, in the early hours of the morning. Together with his friends, Indrajit was attacked by unknown people and slashed them both in the area of Jalan Captain Sumarsono.

Indrajit was immediately rushed to the Adventist Hospital. However, due to his financial condition, he was unable to receive treatment. While BPJS does not cover because the victim is a criminal.

"That night, the hospital asked the family for a guarantee of around Rp. 5 million. Because we didn't have money, we were confused that night. Moreover, BPJS did not cover criminal victims," said the grandmother, Sabariyah, to reporters, Thursday, February 3.

Luckily, continued the grandmother who is familiarly called Iyah, the victim's family was assisted by a member of the Medan DPRD, Rudiawan Sitorus who was present and guaranteed the victim to take him to Bunda Thamrin Hospital to get medical treatment.

The victim also underwent surgery on the skull that was badly injured by the stab. Now, the condition of the victim is still unconscious and has to get serious treatment in the ICU.

However, another problem came to the victim's family. Hospital costs, which continued to swell to Rp110 million, made it even more difficult for the victim's mother and family.

"The plan is now to be transferred to Pirngadi Hospital with the help of Mr. Rudiawan Sitorus because here (Bunda Thamrin Hospital) the costs are quite large. But the problem is that we don't have the money to pay off the medical expenses which are quite large. We can only give up now, bro, " he said.

Seeing this condition, there is nothing that Nurjannah and her family can do at this time. Surrender and prayer become their powerful weapons so that their children can get a miracle.

Economic constraints forced them to post this story on their personal social accounts. The hope is simple, there is assistance that can reduce the cost of his child's hospitalization.
