At First It Was Thought That The Thief Heard The Noise, It Turned Out That Yono Saw 2 Elephants Running Amok, Destroying 3 People's Houses
RIAU - A total of three residential units in Kota Garo Village, Hamlet 4 Plambayan RT 03811111/RW 008, Tapung Hulu District, Kampar Regency, Riau were damaged by a herd of wild elephants.
The rampage of an elephant on Tuesday, February 2 was seen directly by one of the homeowners
who suffered severe damage named Yono.
When contacted by the media crew, Yono said the incident occurred at around 20.00 WIB when he saw two elephants directly. "There are about two tails, they are large in size," Yono said as quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 3.
However, Yono estimates that many elephants will come and damage people's homes, judging by the traces left at the case site. Apart from his house, Yanto's and Panggabean's houses were also targeted with almost the same damage.
Apart from destroying houses, the herd of elephants, said Yono, also damaged household appliances so that they could no longer be used and all of them were destroyed. At first, Yono suspected that a thief had entered the house because he heard a noise.
"I thought it was a thief, so I went to the house next door. It turned out that the elephant was raging," said Yono.
Previously, continued Yono, the elephant herd was not as vicious as yesterday. Because when they met some time ago they didn't bother and were only seen eating jengkol fruit.
"Last night they were so vicious, that's why my wife who was cooking immediately evacuated herself," said Yono.
Yono said that they had temporarily fled to another place while still repairing their house. He hopes that the relevant parties will take immediate action for fear of experiencing an incident like the one in Minas, Siak.
"We hope that the officers will take immediate action for fear of being trampled to death, like the news I saw on television," Yono hoped.
