COVID-19 Continues To Rise, DKI Will Provide More Social Assistance For Residents In Self-isolation

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said the DKI Provincial Government will again provide social assistance (bansos) for residents who are self-isolating (isoman) due to exposure to COVID-19.

This is planned considering that cases in the capital are increasing along with the spread of the Omicron variant. Meanwhile, mild symptomatic and asymptomatic cases are recommended for isoman.

"We will prepare social assistance for isoman, yes, there are even public kitchens in five areas," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, February 2.

However, Riza has not been able to reveal when the social assistance will begin to be given. Because, there needs to be preparations related to budgeting to the preparation of the DKI regional work units (SKPD) to distribute the social assistance.

"Later, each agency will prepare it. In the end, we will issue a governor's regulation or a governor's decision. That will be the reference later. This is just a discussion," said Riza.

In addition, in dealing with the surge in COVID-19 cases, Riza said the DKI Provincial Government would increase supervision of the implementation of health protocols and reactivation of the COVID-19 Task Force in the RT-RW scope.

In terms of health service facilities, the DKI Provincial Government will increase health workers, medicines, and the availability of oxygen for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.

"We have anticipated and prepared various facilities. All of them are preparing to face the increase in COVID-19 and Omicron which is expected to start increasing in mid-February to March," he explained.

For information, the DKI Provincial Government has distributed social assistance in the form of basic necessities for isoman residents during the period of the spike in COVID-19 cases in mid-2021 due to the Delta variant.

The food assistance distributed was 20 kilograms of premium quality rice, 1 box of instant noodles, 7 cans of canned fish, 2 liters of cooking oil, and 1 can of 650 gram biscuits.

The way to get basic food assistance starts from reporting to the local RT and RW by attaching a certificate from the puskesmas that the person concerned is undergoing self-isolation.

After that, the RT-RW will forward the report to the lurah. Then, the lurah will write to the Social Service to collect basic food packages and distribute them to sufferers of self-isolation.
