JAKARTA - The police have named social media activist Adam Deni as a suspect in the alleged illegal access case. Adam Deni was previously arrested by the National Police Criminal Investigation Team.

"It's a suspect. We are waiting for 1x24 hours to see if an arrest is made, we will wait again," Karo Penmas of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan told reporters, Wednesday, February 2.

In the case of Adam Deni, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police has examined a number of witnesses and experts in the process of handling this case.

“The witnesses who have been examined are 4 people and 8 experts. ITE and criminal expert witnesses," said Ramadhan.

The handling of the case at the Bareskrim Polri is based on a report against Adam Deni. Adam Deni was arrested on the evening of Tuesday, February 1st.

"Brother AD has been detained by investigators from the Cyber Crime Directorate of the Police. This is related to the criminal act of uploading or transmitting electronic documents by unauthorized persons as stipulated in Article 48 paragraphs 1,2 and 3 in conjunction with Article 32 paragraphs 1,2 and 3 of the ITE Law," said Brigadier General Ramadhan.

The handling of the alleged illegal access case involving Adam Deni went quickly. Because five days after being reported, Adam Deni was immediately arrested and named a suspect.

"Already a suspect, since last night he was detained and arrested as a suspect," said Brigadier General Ramadhan.

According to Ramadan, Adam Deni was reported on January 27. Where, the report is registered with the number LP/B/0040/I/2022/SPKT/Dittipidsiber of the National Police Criminal Investigation Department.
