The COVID-19 Task Force Opens Up, Rise In Cases In Bali Dominated By Domestic Travelers
JAKARTA - Secretary of the Bali Province COVID-19 Task Force, Made Rentin, conveyed that the surge in positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the Island of the Gods in the last few days was dominated by domestic travellers (PPDN).
"Additional cases occurred after tracing and testing close contacts. It varies at some points, but is still dominated by domestic travelers (PPDN)," Rentin said in Denpasar, quoted from Antara.
On Tuesday 1 February, additional daily COVID-19 cases in Bali Province were recorded as 715 people, 30 people were reported to have recovered and three people died from COVID-19.
Rentin explained that today's additional cases increased sharply compared to the day before, which on Monday, January 31, with additional daily cases of 294 people.
Regarding positive confirmed cases of COVID-19, which are dominated by PPDN, Rentin said, this was known when they were about to return or leave Bali.
"They finished their activities in Bali, were about to go home, the results were positive. However, because they were asymptomatic, they carried out self-isolation at the hotel at their own expense," said the bureaucrat who is also the Acting Head of the Bali Provincial Health Service.
According to Rentin, who is also the Chief Executive of the Bali BPBD, the Bali Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force has actually prepared a centralized isolation place at Bapelkesmas, but most of them choose to stay in hotels, even at their own expense.
Next, additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 were also contributed from student groups and there were a number of football players who were found to be positive for COVID-19, and the rest were evenly distributed and varied in the community.
Although positive cases of COVID-19 in Bali have soared, Rentin said, most of them have mild symptoms, even without symptoms. "Therefore, according to the President's recommendation, they can be isoman. Not all of them have to flock to the referral hospital," he said.
Those who are undergoing self-isolation, he continued, simply rest at home and take advantage of telemedicine services, online consultations and also free drug facilities.
"But if you suddenly have symptoms, then there will be quick action or you can be referred to the nearest hospital," said Rentin.
Regarding PPDN which was confirmed positive for COVID-19 after carrying out activities in Bali, according to Rentin, the ministries/agencies are still continuing the activity plans or agendas that have been prepared.
"This is because they are optimistic and believe in the Bali Task Force that the management of handling COVID-19 has gone well," he said.
