Unpleasant News From Cirebon, Students In A Number Of Schools Confirmed COVID-19 Because Of 100 Percent PTM

JAKARTA - The Cirebon District Health Office, West Java, noted that at least 11 students from a number of local schools running face-to-face learning (PTM) were 100 percent confirmed positive for COVID-19, for this reason, classrooms were closed.

"Today there are 23 additional cases, of which 11 are students from several schools," said Head of the Immunization and Surveillance Section for Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Cirebon District Health Office Dendi Hamdi in Cirebon, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, February 1.

Dendi said the 11 students who were exposed to COVID-19 were discovered after his party took samples during PTM 100 percent, to break the chain of spread.

According to him, the 11 students are not in the same school environment, but are scattered in several schools in Cirebon Regency.

Dendi continued, face-to-face learning is still being carried out, because the positive rate is below 5 percent.

"We only close classes where there are students who are confirmed positive for COVID-19, and this is done at least 5x24 hours," he said.

Dendi confirmed that currently there are no school clusters, so PTM is still running according to applicable regulations, but must adhere to strict health protocols.

The positive confirmed case of COVID-19 in Cirebon Regency is currently experiencing an increase, namely the total number of residents undergoing isolation in recent days has reached 62 people.

"Of the 62 people, 11 people are undergoing treatment at the hospital, and the rest are self-isolating," he said.
