Sate Seller In North Sumatra Killed By Lightning At Muara Nauli Beach Tourist Location, Tapteng, 4 People Were Injured
MEDAN - Heavy rain accompanied by lightning flooded the tourist location of Muara Nauli Beach, Sorkam District, Central Tapanuli Regency (Tapteng), North Sumatra. As a result, a satay seller named Alex Siahaan (36) was killed by lightning.
Head of the Subdivision of Public Relations of the Tapteng Polres AKP Horas Gurning said the incident began when heavy rain accompanied by lightning lashed the tourist site, Sunday, January 30. At that time the victims were taking shelter in a shop owned by Megawati Simanungkalit (46).
"While taking shelter in the shop, lightning boomed and struck near the location where the victims were taking shelter, causing all the victims to lie down and helpless," said AKP Horas, Monday, January 31.
AKP Horas said residents who saw the incident immediately took the victims who were lying and helpless to the Sorkam Health Center to get first aid.
"Meanwhile, the victim who died was immediately brought to the house of the victim's family," he said.
In addition to causing 1 person to die, the lightning strike also injured 4 other people. The four victims of the lightning strike were Suartika Situmorang (23), Mence Situmeang (45), Syiahbaini Pasaribu (15) and Marhamin Situmorang (30).
"All of them have now been referred to the FL Tobing Hospital," said AKP Horas.
