Grandfather Ponidi Lost In The Gondanglegi Forest, Malang

MALANG - Grandpa named Ponidi (64), a resident of Purworejo Village, Ngantang District, Malang Regency is suspected to have lost his way in the Gondanglegi forest. Ponidi was reported missing since entering the forest on Sunday, January 30.

According to the information gathered, the last time Ponidi's grandfather entered the forest was wearing a red T-shirt. Until now, the whereabouts of this man are not clearly known.

The head of Jeruk Hamlet, Purworejo Village, Slamet, confirmed that his residents were suspected of being lost in the Gondanglegi forest. He received this report on Monday, January 31 morning.

According to the family's information, Ponidi's grandfather left for the forest at around 06.00 WIB, Sunday, January 30. Every day, Ponidi's grandfather often went in and out of the forest to look for mushrooms and other forest products.

"But yesterday, the family was waiting for the night, how come they didn't come home. Finally, we reported this to the police", Slamet told reporters.

Currently, the police together with Muspika and residents are still searching. The head of the Ngantang Police, AKP Hanis Siswanto, said that a joint team of 30 people had been deployed to search.

His party is waiting for members of the Malang Regency SAR Team who are scheduled to come this afternoon.

“Yes, the report is true. We immediately sent members to search while waiting for the SAR team to arrive", he said.
