Police Make Sure Cooking Oil Prices Are In Accordance With HET As Of February 1

JAKARTA - The National Police's Food Task Force has confirmed that the price of cooking oil will match the Highest Retail Price (HET) in early February. Therefore, the public need not worry.

"So the policy for cooking oil at a price of 14,000 for premium packaging must have been included in all of them. On February 1 tomorrow it must be included in all," said the Head of the National Police's Food Task Force Inspector General Helmy Santika to reporters, Monday, January 31.

Not only the price of cooking oil with premium packaging that must follow government regulations. Other packaged fried noodles will also be HET compliant.

"The first is Rp. 14 thousand per liter for premium packaging, the second is simple packaging of Rp. 13,500 per liter, and Rp. 11,500 per liter in bulk," said Helmy.

In addition, Helmy emphasized that currently there is no panic buying phenomenon. Because, what actually happened was only people who gave for supplies in the long term.

"When it comes to panic buying, there is no such thing as ordinary women stocking 5 liters for a week, they buy them for a month to 20 liters, while retail stocks have been limited, for example 1 tonne," said Helmy.

Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto asked the public not to worry about running out of cooking oil using the highest retail price (HET) benchmark because there was a lot of stock.

"The price as of February 1, 2022, which is set by the government at IDR 14,000 per liter for premium ones, IDR 13,500 for simple 'packing', and IDR 11,500 for bulk, is expected to continue to be distributed. So there's plenty of stock, no need to be afraid of running out of stock. ," said Airlangga in Semarang.
