SBI Starts The Project For The Development Of The Wharf And Production Facilities At The Tuban Plant, East Java

JAKARTA - PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk (SBI) which is a business unit of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) has started a port development project for the Special Terminal located in Tuban, East Java. The development of the Special Terminal port aims to meet the needs of foreign markets in terms of cement and clinker exports.

The laying of the first stone marking the start of the project construction was carried out on Friday, January 28, by the Regent of Tuban, Aditya Halindra Faridzky, Director of Business Strategy and GIS Business Development, Aulia Mulki Oemar, Director of GIS Operations, Yosviandri, Plt. SBI President Director Lilik Unggul Raharjo, SBI Offtake and Partnership Director Yasuhide Abe and PT Hutama Karya (Persero) Operations Director II, Ferry Febrianto.

Projects with an investment of Rp1.4 trillion include increasing the capacity of the Special Terminal from 15,000 DWT to 50,000 DWT. The additional capacity at the Special Terminal is carried out by building a new trestle jetty and jetty platform from the existing jetty.

In addition to increasing capacity at special terminals, in order to support operational needs at the factory, the construction of factory facilities in the form of a blending silo system facility with a capacity of 8,000 tons, a clinker silo system with a capacity of 15,000 tons, and a cement silo system with a capacity of 2 x 18,000 tons as well as transportation means in the form of a tube conveyor. along with its supporting facilities, which function to send bulk cement from the silo to the ship.

The Acting President Director of SBI, Lilik Unggul Raharjo said that the development project for the wharf and cement production facilities in Tuban is one of the realizations of the strategic collaboration between SBI and Taiheiyo Cement Corporation (TCC) which has officially started running since August 4, 2021. The wharf development project is planned for able to meet the export market demand of up to 500 thousand tons of cement per year.

“This wharf development complements the Tuban factory's ability to expand its export market reach in synergy with SIG and TCC. We will also have transportation facilities to send bulk cement from silos directly to ships," said Lilik Unggul Raharjo in a written statement, Monday, January 31.

The development of the wharf and production & transportation facilities, which are planned to take two years, is a strategic step for SBI to contribute to accelerating the realization of GIS's vision to become the largest building material solution provider in the region, through optimizing the utilization of company assets and increasing cash flow and profitability. .

Meanwhile, the Director of Business Strategy and Business Development of GIS, Aulia Mulki Oemar said that the development of docks and production facilities is a form of the company's commitment in providing products for export.

"This development has many aspects, not only the company's commitment to investors, but also part of the country's commitment to provide comfort for foreign investors to invest in Indonesia," said Aulia Mulki Oemar.

According to him, this collaboration is a form of BUMN synergy between SIG and Hutama Karya which is the mandate of the Ministry of BUMN.

"Hopefully this project can also provide goodness for the people of Tuban Regency and Indonesia in general," added Aulia Mulki Oemar.
