Jokowi Strolls In Balikpapan Sepinggan Market While Distributing Cash Aid

BALIKPAPAN - President Joko Widodo toured the traders at the Sepinggan Market located in South Balikpapan District, Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan and provided direct cash assistance.

President Jokowi visited the traditional market after attending the Inauguration of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board for the Solemn Period of 2022-2027, and the 96th Birthday of NU, Monday, January 31.

A number of traders said they were happy to meet with President Jokowi and receive direct cash assistance of IDR 1.2 million and a number of basic needs.

"I didn't expect to be able to meet in person with Mr. Jokowi, and be given financial assistance for additional capital," said one trader at Sepinggan Market, Rukiah, as quoted by Antara.

According to another trader, Halijah, President Jokowi's arrival to the Sepinggan Market was a surprise because it was the first time the highest leadership of the Republic of Indonesia had visited.

President Jokowi asked traders to use the direct cash assistance for additional business capital.

President Jokowi's arrival at the Sepinggan Market was enthusiastically welcomed by both Sepinggan Market traders and the surrounding community.

Occasionally, President Jokowi's entourage stops to distribute t-shirts to the people who have been waiting since morning.

Arriving at the Sepinggan Market, President Jokowi immediately went around to the traders to provide direct assistance in the form of money and nine basic commodities (sembako).

President Jokowi seemed to greet the traders in a friendly manner while on a visit at the Sepinggan Market.
