Vice President Hopes NU Continues To Be The Government's Strategic Partner
JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin hopes that Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) can continue to be a strategic partner of the Government of Indonesia in development and realizing people's welfare.
This was conveyed by Vice President Ma'ruf while attending the Inauguration of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board for the Solemn Period of 2022-2027 and the Commemoration of NU's 96th Birthday at The Dome Balikpapan Sport and Convention Center, Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Monday.
"Welcoming a century of its birth, we should be grateful to Allah SWT for the long journey of NU in accompanying the journey of the Indonesian nation to date. The vice president also asked NU to strengthen its role in efforts to face the challenges of the Indonesian nation which will become increasingly difficult.
"NU must continue to be the locking node for ukhuwah Islamiyah, ukhuwah wathaniyah and ukhuwah insaniyah in our beloved country," he pleaded.
The vice president hopes that NU will also continue to promote and strengthen Indonesian human resources (HR) who have noble character, have good morals and empower the people's economy.
Moreover, in the current era of very fast information dissemination, the Vice President asked NU to be a source of truth for the entire community.
"In the midst of the rapid spread of information flow, NU must continue to be a wellspring of truth and a message of peace for all Indonesian people," he said.
The Vice President was present at the PBNU Inauguration for the Solemn Period 2022-2027 wearing a gray suit, white turban, black skullcap and blue sarong. The event was also attended by President Joko Widodo, the 10th and 12th Vice Presidents.
