Anies Hopes Youth Summit 20 Gives Youth The Opportunity To Become Citizens Of The 'World'
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan hopes that the Youth 20 Summit (KTT) can give Indonesian youth the opportunity to become citizens of the 'world' through this international meeting.
This was said by Anies after discussing the preparations for the 20th Youth Summit with the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil and the Chairman of Indonesia Youth Diplomacy Michael Victor Sianipar.
"We hope that this is an opportunity for young Indonesians to feel like citizens of the world. He is not only a citizen of the city, not only a citizen but also a citizen of the world," said Anies, quoted by Antara, Sunday, January 30.
Anies also hopes that the Indonesian Youth Diplomacy (IYD) youth organization forum can echo the issues brought up at the conference to young people throughout Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the Youth 20 Summit is a forum for future young leaders from all G20 member countries to discuss, argue, and exchange ideas, to reach a common agreement regarding the agenda of the G20 Presidency.
Indonesia will officially host the 20th Youth Summit in 2022.
Jakarta and Bandung are trusted to be the locations for the conference which will be held in July.
"In principle, we are from DKI Jakarta Province and all of the management is by IYD, we support it in the form of a budget, in the form of facilities, so that they can later hold it here," said Anies.
As is known, Indonesia Youth Diplomacy with support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia was appointed to be the official organizer of Y20 Indonesia in 2022.
The main theme to be raised is "From Recovery to Resilience: Rebuilding the Youth Agenda After COVID-19".
