Officials Close Illegal Gold Mine In Mount Prabu, Central Lombok
PRAYA - The West Nusa Tenggara Police are controlling the illegal gold mine in the Gunung Prabu area, Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency, because residents are back to mining.
"There are four mine sites that have been closed," said Central Lombok Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Hery Indra Cahyono in Praya, quoted by Antara, Sunday, January 30.
He said the four mining sites that were closed were in the hill area of Prabu Dusun Dundang and three locations in Bakang Hamlet, Prabu Village.
"The control is carried out with a full sense of responsibility, firm and humane. The Pujut District area is a tourist attraction so that no one should destroy nature, especially in Prabu Village," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Central Lombok BKSDA, Lalu Moh. Fadli said that he had carried out socialization with the Prabu Village community regarding the mine control plan.
However, in practice in the field, there are still people who carry out illegal mining activities that can cause damage to nature.
"This is one of the efforts in order to control illegal gold miners or excavation B in order to maintain the preservation of Wildlife Sanctuaries, Nature Reserves, Nature Tourism Parks in the Central Lombok Regency area," he said.
