The Victim Of A Shophouse Fire On Jalan Rajawali Confessed That His Building Was On Fire Twice
JAKARTA – Ten shop houses (shop houses) on Jalan Rajawali Km 5 Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan were burned to the ground. Jekan Raya Police Chief Ipda Ali Mahfud of the incident.
"At this time we do not know what caused the fire, but it is suspected that the fire started in one of the three shop houses selling food in the middle," Ali said, quoted Saturday, January 29.
He said the police had also asked for a number of statements from several witnesses related to the fire that occurred at around 14.30 WIB and caused a stir among residents who lived and passed the Jalan Rajawali Km 5 section.
There were no fatalities in the incident, but the local police are still conducting an investigation to find out what caused the fire.
"While the cause of the fire, we don't know whether it was caused by a stove, electricity, etc., but we will collect a number of statements from witnesses who know about the incident," he said.
Meanwhile, Masran, one of the victims of the fire, said that the fire actually started from a shophouse in the middle, including a shop selling fried chicken, grilled fish and yellow rice.
"Essentially the fire was suspected to have been from the three buildings I mentioned earlier, if I'm sure where the fire was first I don't know," he explained.
Masran emphasized that he had been a victim of two fires at the same location. Because in 2013, the same building was engulfed by the red rooster.
In the year 2022, where he lives as well as a place of livelihood, the red rooster is raging again. Fortunately, valuables and other objects were saved, although some were burned.
"We managed to save most of the items and there were no casualties from this incident," he said.
The firefighters managed to extinguish the fire in about an hour. Members of the local police who came to the scene, immediately installed a police line so that people would not cross and enter the fire area.
