Fire In Tebet, Three Elderly Burned Killed
JAKARTA - A deadly fire occurred in a residential area on Jalan Kampung Melayu Besar, RT 03/01, Al-Atiq Mosque, Kebon Baru Village, Tebet District, South Jakarta.
As a result of the fire incident, three elderly people were found dead horribly because they were suspected of being trapped by the fire.
"We received a fire report on Saturday, January 29, early in the morning, at around 05.09 WIB. We have dispatched 5 fire engines to the scene," said Head of East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-dept. (Sudin Gulkarmat) Gatot Sulaeman to reporters on Saturday. January 29, morning.
A total of 30 firefighters were dispatched to the fire site with complete extinguishing equipment. The firefighters arrived at the fire location at around 05.18 WIB and immediately made efforts to extinguish the fire.
"Currently, the cooling process has been carried out at the location. From reports, it was found that three residents died as a result of being trapped in a fire. The object that caught fire was a house," he said.
The victims who died due to the fire consisted of two elderly women with the initials J (40) and M (72). Meanwhile, a male victim with the initials Mustache (60).
Until now, joint officers from the East Jakarta Sub-dept. of Gulkarmat and South Jakarta are still carrying out the cooling process at the fire site after the fire was completely extinguished. Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
