Garut Education Office Gives IDR 6 Million To Former School Burner Teacher
GARUT - The Garut Regency Education Office, West Java, provided assistance of Rp. 6 million to a former teacher who became a suspect in the burning of SMPN 1 Cikelet.
This assistance is a form of concern and at the same time resolves the problem of claiming honoraria while the suspect teaches at the school.
"Now we will replace the honorarium of Rp. 6 million, hopefully this can provide benefits," said Head of the Garut Regency Education Office, Ade Manadin during a press conference for the release of lawsuits (restorative justice) for the suspect in the school fire at the Garut Police Headquarters, reported by Antara, Friday, January 28.
Ade said the Garut Education Office was responsible for the existence of a former teacher named Munir Alamsyah (53) who set fire to the building of SMPN 1 Cikelet where he used to teach.
"We are responsible for the Garut Disdik, he is the best teacher," he said.
Munir Alamsyah was an honorary teacher in Physics at SMPN 1 Cikelet from 1996 to 1998 who had intelligence and was a source of pride.
The assistance given to Munir Alamsyah, he said, could solve his problem, which had always been thinking about the unpaid honorarium while he was an honorary teacher.
"Hopefully this will be a medicine for the wound in Pak Munir's heart," he said.
Ade expressed his gratitude to the Garut Resort Police for freeing Munir from lawsuits so that he could reunite with his family.
He hopes that this incident will no longer occur in Garut Regency, and that the principal should pay more attention to his teachers to anticipate similar incidents.
"The principal must be sensitive to his environment, he must pay attention to his subordinates when leading his school, that around us there are people who must be respected," he said.
