"In line with the main focus of the Indonesian G20 Presidency, there are 3 main opportunities that we must take advantage of. First, the transition to a green economy. Second, the trend of the digital economy is getting faster, and third, improving the global health architecture that is more responsive in the face of a global pandemic, "explained the President.
In terms of the transition to a green economy, the President expects the contribution of the B20 community to accelerate a smooth energy transformation without causing negative impacts on small communities.
According to Jokowi, global solutions in terms of funding and partnerships are an agenda that must be the main concern, including technology transfer to encourage green economy-based production.
"We invite investments that can encourage mutually beneficial added value," he explained.
In terms of the increasingly rapid digital economy trend, President Jokowi emphasized that Indonesia pays serious attention to the development of digital technology, especially those that have a direct contribution to the empowerment of MSMEs and human resource development.
The President emphasized that with a very large population and rapidly increasing purchasing power, Indonesia is very attractive to invest in digital economic infrastructure. "We want to invite investments that provide opportunities for all levels of society to participate and benefit from the transformation of the digital economy," he said.
Finally, in terms of improving the global health architecture, Indonesia invites the B20 community to collaborate in mobilizing resources to finance innovation and equitable production of vaccines, medicines, and medical devices.
The President said that Indonesia had encouraged investment in the health sector to meet domestic needs. In 2021, the President said, central and local government spending on the health sector will reach US$34.77 billion.
"We will prioritize the purchase of pharmaceuticals and medical devices that are produced domestically. The principle is that if they can be produced domestically, the government budget will not buy imported ones, therefore we invite investment in the health sector in Indonesia, which at the same time strengthens the health resilience system. globally," he explained.
