North Sumatra Police Summons IDI Regarding Vaccine Injection Cases

MEDAN - Investigators from the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the North Sumatra Police have scheduled to summon the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) regarding the alleged case of injecting blank vaccines into elementary school students by an unscrupulous doctor with the initials G in Medan City.

The Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi, said that the IDI was summoned for questioning regarding the case of empty vaccine injections.

"It is planned that the summons for IDI will be scheduled tomorrow," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 27.

Hadi said that four health workers (nakes), including unscrupulous doctor G, had been summoned for questioning by investigators from the North Sumatra Police Ditreskrimsus.

"Four health workers have been questioned," he said.

Meanwhile, Secretary of IDI Medan Branch, Dr. Ery Suhaimi, said that his party had conducted an investigation regarding the alleged case of the empty vaccine injection.

However, he continued, the ethics trial against doctor G had not been carried out because it was still collecting information from various parties to be submitted to the Medical Code of Ethics Council (MKEK).

"Actually, since the news emerged, IDI has begun to gather the relevant parties," he said.

In this case, he said, the professional organization would only look at it from an ethical point of view because the criminal domain is in the police.

"Because the person concerned is not necessarily guilty, as was sentenced in the community. So later the MKEK will carry on organizationally how the decision will be," he said.
