DKI Jakarta Moves West Java To First Place For Highest Investment Realization, Bahlil: There Is Competition Between Anies And Ridwan Kamil

JAKARTA - Indonesia's investment realization in the fourth quarter of 2021 reached IDR 241.6 trillion or grew 12.5 percent on an annual basis or yoy. While on a quarterly basis or qtq grew 11.5 percent.

The realization between Java and outside Java has begun to spread evenly. Even investment growth outside Java continues to increase.

Based on data from the Ministry of Investment, DKI Jakarta occupies the first position of the highest investment location with an investment achievement of IDR 30.8 trillion. Then, followed by West Java with IDR 28.9 trillion.

Investment Minister, Bahlil Lahadalia said that since he took office as minister, the main position of the first investment destination was West Java. However, said Bahlil, this time DKI shifted the position of West Java.

"Since I was at the Ministry of Investment, West Java has always been number one. But this time DKI (Jakarta) overtook West Java," he said in a virtual press conference, Thursday, January 27.

According to Bahlil, there was a leadership competition between DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil in attracting investment into their respective regions.

"This might also be a competition, a leadership competition, it seems. But it must be admitted that DKI is indeed making more investments. I don't know what strategy to use," he said.

This condition is different from the third quarter of 2021. In that period, West Java occupies the highest position in both domestic and foreign investment. The realization in the area was Rp. 34.8 trillion, followed by DKI Jakarta at Rp. 23.9 trillion.

The five highest investment locations in the fourth quarter of 2021 are DKI Jakarta with IDR 30.8 trillion. Then West Java Rp28.9 trillion. Then East Java Rp26.8 trillion. East Kalimantan Rp. 16.4 trillion and North Maluku Rp. 15.3 trillion.
