2 Residents In Bangka Are Detected Positive For COVID-19, One Of Them Has Been To Jakarta

BANGKA - The Bangka Regency COVID-19 Task Force (Satgas) noted that there were two additional residents in the area who were confirmed positive for COVID-19, bringing the total cases to 9,844 people.

"Two people who were confirmed positive, each with the initials Na (43), a woman from Sungailiat District and Ls (46), a woman from Pemali District," said Bangka Regency COVID-19 Task Force Spokesperson, Boy Yandra in Sungailiat, quoted by Antara, Thursday, 27 January.

Na is a traveler from Jakarta, while Ls is known to have local transmission or no travel history.

"With the addition of these two cases, the total number of active patients currently undergoing health care is three people," he said.

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 from spreading, his party has taken samples for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) examination to all Ls' close contact friends who are principals at one of the kindergarten educational institutions.

He reminded the entire community to remain vigilant and continue to improve discipline in implementing health protocols such as wearing masks every time they leave the house, washing hands with soap and running water and avoiding crowds.

"The public must be really disciplined in implementing the COVID-19 process considering that for three consecutive days there have been findings of new cases, and those who have not received the vaccine should immediately register at the nearest vaccine outlet service," he said.
