This Whale Secretly Has More Bitcoins Than MicroStrategy
JAKARTA – Whale or the largest Bitcoin owner is reported to have added an even larger number of BTC holdings. Until now, the third largest whale is informed that it has more Bitcoins than Michael Saylor's company, MircroStrategy.
According to a report from Cryptopotato, the third-largest Bitcoin whale has been making massive purchases of late. The entity has taken advantage of the recent price drop and is already adding more BTC to its stash.
On Saturday 22nd January, whale added 328 BTC worth nearly 12 million US dollars. Whereas on January 25, the entity also bought 160 BTC more, worth nearly 6 million US dollars. However, what is even more impressive is that now this entity owns more BTC than the public company MicroStrategy.
The tech company spearheaded by one of Bitcoin's most vocal proponents Michael Saylor owns 124,391 BTC of Bitcoin. This became clear on December 30, 2021, when the company revealed that it had purchased another 1914 BTC. At that time, they paid 94.2 million US dollars for BTC. This latest purchase brings the total number of bitcoins MicroStrategy owns to 124,391.
At the time of writing, the third largest whale holds 124,485 BTC. According to MicroStrategy's latest announcement, their average price on the BTC they buy is around 30,159 US dollars. On the other hand, the third largest whale has a cost base of around US$22,000 per BTC and makes a profit of around US$1.75 billion as reported by Cryptopotato.
