Dua Lipa Makes New Album: Not Something Fans Like
JAKARTA - Singer Dua Lipa is working on a new album after releasing Future Nostalgia in 2020. Two years later, she wants to present something different from her previous work.
Currently, Dua Lipa admits that he is still in the early stages of work, but he doesn't have a deadline so everything is going smoothly.
“I'm writing massively: it's starting to take shape; I also started recording some tracks," Dua Lipa told the Wall Street Journal.
“This (album) must have a vision. I think it already has a title. So happy to be experimenting. I've always made pop music, but this time there's a unique sound like Future Nostalgia. But it's still in baby form, so we'll see progress,” explained the Levitating singer.
Reluctant to divulge anything, Dua Lipa said it was likely that fans would not like this.
"To be honest, maybe this isn't what my fans want to hear, but I'm not in a rush," he said.
The album Future Nostalgia, which was released two years ago, explores the techno and disco side of the '70s. This new side was able to bring Dua Lipa as one of the best-selling singers of the year.
In addition to the new album, Dua Lipa will also enter the world of acting with a debut in the film Argylle this year. He will star opposite Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O'Hara, John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson, Ariana DeBose, and Rob Delaney.
“A lot of people say, 'This isn't the same as making a music video?' but it's okay. Through music videos, you will play in front of the camera while in movies, you have to forget the camera and get into character,” answered Dua Lipa.
