Minister Of Manpower Ida Emphasizes The Need For Manpower Assistance In Mandalika
JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah said there was a need for assistance and training to create a competent workforce in the Mandalika tourism sector.
"It is necessary to strengthen and assist workers engaged in the tourism sector, especially digital training in a series of tourism promotion and development," Ida said in a written statement from the Ministry of Manpower received by ANTARA in Jakarta, Thursday, January 27.
Ida said that in preparing superior local human resources in the Central Lombok area, the workforce must have the specifications and qualifications that can be obtained from a training needed by a super priority tourist destination.
This is because there are so many interested workers, but sometimes their skills don't match the needs of super-priority destinations like Mandalika.
According to him, the workers then need to get a training, both which can improve their hard skills and soft skills that refer to current conditions. So that their abilities, later can be multitasking and multiskilled.
In order to provide support to the Central Lombok Regional Government to prepare a competent workforce in accordance with the needs of the labor market in Mandalika, it will collaborate with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) as well as the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud).
The collaboration aims to develop tourism villages and independent entrepreneurs around Mandalika. In addition, the Ministry of Manpower also assists the promotion and participation of private business actors, especially those in the super priority destination Mandalika.
Central Lombok Regent Lalu Pathul Bahri said his staff had coordinated with the hospitality association in Mandalika in preparing the workforce.
The preparation of the workforce is carried out through trainings made with training institutions such as the East Lombok BLK, Private Job Training Institute (LPKS), the Tourism Industry Association, and MSMEs in the Mandalika area. "These trainings will be specifically for hotel workers who will be placed in a number of hotels in Mandalika," said Lalu.
