Chairman Of DPRD Supports KPK In Finishing Case Of Disabled Bekasi Mayor Rahmat Effendi

BEKASI - The Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) of Bekasi City, West Java fully supports the efforts of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to resolve legal cases that are currently being handled, especially regarding the developing situation in their area.

"Regarding the legal incident that befell the Mayor of (non-active) RE, the leadership of the DPRD feels the need to convey a number of things as a form of obedience to Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Openness of Public Information that all matters relating to the main duties and consequences that accompany it are the right of the community to I know," said Chairoman J Putro, chairman of the Bekasi City DPRD, in a written statement quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 26.

He explained that the leadership of the Bekasi City DPRD and all ranks are committed to taking a cooperative and open attitude towards information needed in the legal process at the KPK.

"If at any time the KPK law enforcement needs information or testimony regarding the problems being experienced by the Mayor of RE, it is certain that all members of the DPRD will fulfill it and provide information," he said.

The leadership of the Bekasi City DPRD stated that they fully support the KPK's efforts in investigating cases of alleged criminal acts of corruption and are committed to creating a clean governance of Bekasi City.

As a form of cooperative commitment, he has also visited the KPK as a witness to the legal problems that are currently befalling the Mayor of (non-active) RE, on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
