CIREBON - Personnel at the Cirebon Police, West Java, arrested six students in a junior high school who brandished sharp weapons to threaten other students. The cowboy student's action was caught on surveillance cameras and went viral on social media.
"We have arrested six students (who made threats using sharp weapons)," said Depok Police Chief AKP Rynaldi Nurwan, in Cirebon as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 26.
He said the six students who were carrying sharp weapons were taken into custody after they received reports from the local community who were restless.
After the incident, officers immediately went to the scene, and found a bag containing four sickles.
"In addition, we also collect evidence in the field," he said.
He said they are currently seeking mediation steps with various related parties to resolve the issue. So that the same thing does not happen again.
Meanwhile, from the results of the examination, it was found that the students who carried the sharp weapons were junior high school students in the Plumbon and Depok sub-districts.
The action was motivated by the beating of one of the students some time ago. So they intend to retaliate by attacking and then being chased by a group of students who beat them.
"Then the two groups of students passed each other in Karangwangi Village and immediately brandished sharp weapons," he said.
Previously circulating on various social media, there were students pointing sharp weapons at other students, and the incident occurred during the day when people were passing by.
