Police Reveals Murder Case In Bekasi Initially Reported Dead Due To Falling From Stairs

JAKARTA - The police have uncovered the case of the murder of a young man with the initials AY (18) that occurred in Jatiwaringin, Pondok Gede, Bekasi. This disclosure began with information that the victim died as a result of falling from the stairs.

"Initially what was reported was not murder, but the victim died as a result of falling from the stairs," said Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters, Wednesday, January 16.

However, the fact is that falling down the stairs is just the perpetrator's modus operandi to eliminate the trail. In fact, what happened was that the young man was the victim of a murder.

This case was revealed after a witness informed the victim's family that AY died not from falling down the stairs. The family also made the report to the Bekasi City Police.

"The victim's brother made a report to the Bekasi City Metro Police for an investigation into this case because he received information from a friend of the victim who at the time of the incident saw the victim's mouth before he died, his hands were tied with rope and his mouth was taped in front of the bathroom door," said Zulpan.

With this report, investigators moved to look for other information and clues. Until the suspicion of murder is confirmed.

"Investigators managed to arrest the suspect with the initials TAW, a 21-year-old male," he said.

Based on the examination, the suspect tied the victim with a rope and covered his mouth with duct tape. Thus, the victim died of suffocation.

"The suspect admitted all his actions. That the victim died due to airway obstruction," said Zulpan.

In this case, investigators ensnared the suspect under Article 340 of the Criminal Code which carries a life sentence of imprisonment.
