Ngabalin: Jokowi Forms Small Team To Determine Head Of State Capital Authority
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo has been given two months to determine the head of the National Capital Authority (IKN) of the Archipelago since the law was passed.
Responding to this, the Main Expert Staff of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Ali Mochtar Ngabalin said that there was a small team appointed by President Jokowi in the determination.
"There is a small team that the President has appointed," said Ngabalin, Wednesday, January 26.
Ngabalin said the small team was not formed to make a selection. But to evaluate and provide input and considerations for the appointment of the head of the IKN authority.
"Of course not in a position to select. But at least the small team evaluates, provides input, gives consideration," he said.
However, Ngabalin emphasized that the final decision is in the hands of President Jokowi, as the provisions of the Law that the election of the head of the authority is the prerogative of the president.
"That is the prerogative of the president. The law is completely left to the president. The president has considerations," he said.
Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) leaked the criteria for the candidate for the Head of the National Capital Authority (IKN) of the Archipelago.
“I want people who have an architectural background and have led the area. But that's my wish," said President Joko Widodo or Jokowi, Thursday, January 20, 2022.
There are currently four names of candidates for the head of the new capital city authority circulating. These four people were also named by Jokowi in 2020.
They are the former governor of DKI Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok; the former Regent of Banyuwangi, Abdullah Azwar Anas; former Minister of Planning and National Development/Head of Bappenas, Bambang Brodjonegoro; and former President Director of PT Wijaya Karya, Tumiyana.
