Tigers Enter The Mukomuko Transmigration Settlement At Dawn

BENGKULU - The tiger re-entered the settlement of the residents of the Lubuk Talang Transmigration Settlement Unit (UPT), Malin Deman District, Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu Province and attacked the residents' cattle.

Head of Lubuk Talang Village, Mukomuko Regency, Siswandi said, one cow belonging to a resident was attacked in a cage about 15 meters from the owner's house.

"The tiger entered the residential area on Wednesday morning at around 01.30 WIB and the tiger attacked Panut's cow, a resident of UPT Lubuk Talang," he said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 26.

The cow that was attacked by the tiger suffered serious injuries such as bite wounds on the neck, scratches such as scratches on the body, and wounds on the legs.

"Until now the condition of the livestock has not died. But the injuries suffered by the cows are quite severe, even the condition of the cattle is very weak, they don't want to eat anymore," he said.

He stated that although there were incidents of tigers entering residential areas and attacking cows belonging to residents, residents were still carrying out their normal work activities.

Furthermore, he appealed to residents in this area to remain vigilant against tigers because the possibility of these protected animals still roaming not far from this area.

"We are worried that these wild animals are still not far from settlements, for that we urge residents in this area to remain vigilant when carrying out their work activities," he said.

His party has reported this incident to the Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA) and it is hoped that the hall will handle tigers that enter residential areas in this area.

Meanwhile, he said, the BKSDA is scheduled to enter the area of UPT Lubuk Talang today to deal with tigers that are troubling residents near the area bordering the forest area in this area.
