There Is A New Suspect In The Tulungagung Project Bribery Case, The KPK Will Provide Details During Detention
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said it was developing a bribery case that previously ensnared the former Regent of Tulungagung, Syahri Mulyo. This development has even entered the investigation stage.
"KPK is currently carrying out an investigation into the alleged corruption case related to a work project at the Tulungagung Regency Government," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Ali Fikri told reporters, Wednesday, January 25.
The entry of this case into the investigation process is usually followed by the determination of the suspect. However, Ali did not want to specify who they were and what their roles were.
The reason is that the details of who is a suspect and the articles suspected as well as the construction of the case will be conveyed when efforts to force arrest or detention have been carried out.
"For a complete description of the case, we have not been able to convey the articles that are suspected to the parties who are designated as suspects," he said.
"In accordance with the KPK's commitment, a complete announcement regarding this matter will be delivered when an attempt is made to force arrest or detention," added Ali. Not only that, Ali invites the public to monitor his institution.
"This is a form of our transparency in handling cases," he said.
For information, the former Regent of Tulungagung Syahri Mulyo is suspected of accepting bribes of up to Rp. 2.5 billion. This receipt is a fee for the road improvement infrastructure development project at the PUPR Office of the Tulungagung Regency Government.
He has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and a fine of IDR 700 million in this case. Apart from Syahri, the KPK has also named Agung Prayitno as a private company, Sutrisno as the Head of PUPR for the Tulungagung Regency Government, and Susilo Prabowo as a private sector contractor or contractor.
