23 Burnt Houses In Tambora, Two People Injured

JAKARTA - Dozens of houses on Jalan Tanah Sereal 13, RT 10/10, Tanah Sereal Village, Tambora, West Jakarta were burned to the ground. In addition to material losses, two residents were injured.

"A total of 20 fire engines with 100 personnel were deployed to the location. 14 cars from the West Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. and 2 units from the Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., while 4 units from other areas," said West Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. After the fire was extinguished, the officers cooled down at 18.10 WIB. Sjukri said there were 23 houses burned with 69 heads of families (KK) consisting of 276 people.

"The cause of the fire is suspected to be due to an electrical short in one of the residents' houses. The burned area is about 345 square meters. The loss is estimated at IDR 1 billion," he said.

Meanwhile, the two injured residents were identified as Junaedi (28), a resident of RT 09. Junaedi was stuck with broken glass in the sole of his right foot.

"Then Rizky (27) a resident of RT 09, Tanah Cereal Tambora experienced shortness of breath. The victim was handled by PMI officers at the scene," he said.
