Bringing Basic Food Aid For Victims, Social Minister Risma Calls Floods In Pekalongan Due To Narrowing Of The River
JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini or Risma visited flood victims and distributed basic necessities in Kedungwuni Timur Village, Pekalongan Regency, Central Java today.
"I have a report about a landslide. Well, but earlier I was taken to a flood (to the location, ed.) not a landslide," he said in Pekalongan as reported by Antara, Tuesday, January 25.
He admitted that he would immediately go to the landslide location if he received a report. Social Minister Risma does not want the anticipation that has been done is not appropriate and it is feared that it will cause casualties.
"So if there's a landslide, I usually come right away," said the former mayor of Surabaya. During a visit to Pekalongan Regency, Social Minister Risma also saw the Kletak dam, which had a bend in its channel.
"I tried to analyze it, I also happen to be a former mayor and architect engineer. So I know how, I think it can be solved temporarily," he said.
According to him, the impact of global warming is quite large, namely that previously unflooded areas can now become flooded areas.
"So because of that, the anticipation must be more prepared, we can't allow it or accept it because of the impact on the community," he said.
Risma assessed that the flooding that occurred in the Hamlet of Kranji, Kedungwuni District last Wednesday was due to the narrowing of the river due to large sediments.
"Therefore, we really have to take steps. I asked the Secretary of the Regional Secretary how many heavy equipment? He said there are two now in the position of the landslide. Ok, we will help one heavy equipment that will handle the flood area," he said. Social Minister Risma.
