Ridwan Kamil: 31 Omicron Patients In West Java Declared Cured

BANDUNG - West Java (Jabar) Governor M Ridwan Kamil said the case of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in West Java was still under control. Of the 33 confirmed cases of COVID-19 of the Omicron variant, 31 of them have recovered.

"Omicron in West Java is still under control. Of the 33 confirmed cases, 31 have recovered. The remaining two are still being treated at the BPSDM," said Ridwan Kamil after attending the Committee Meeting for COVID-19 Handling and Regional Economic Recovery at the Sate building, Bandung City, quoted by Antara. , Tuesday, January 25.

"So the assumption is that Omicron is contagious and quickly heals, on average 3 to 4 days," he continued.

Meanwhile, the daily cases of COVID-19 in West Java were recorded to have increased by 409 cases. Kang Emil stated that the 409 cases were not Omicron variants.

"So we still assume the daily cases that increase in West Java are non-Omicron variants. That is, it is still Delta or the previous variant," said Kang Emil.

The highest transmission of COVID-19 is still in the Bodebek area (Bogor-Depok-Bekasi). Regarding the occupancy rate of the COVID-19 referral hospital in January this year, it was much better than January of the previous year. The occupancy rate of the COVID-19 referral hospital in January 2021 reached 40 percent, while this month, although there was an increase, it was still at 7 percent.

"This means that vaccination has succeeded in breaking the chain of transmission because last year's vaccination was not implemented," said Kang Emil. Now it is believed that the virus is circulating, but it does not enter the body, which on average has been vaccinated," he said.

On Tuesday, January 25, the coverage of the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination in West Java reached 86 percent, and 76 percent for the second dose.

The average COVID-19 vaccine in West Java reaches 180,000 doses per day. Kang Emil is optimistic that the first dose of vaccination will be 100 percent complete by the end of February 2022.

"About the end of February we can reach 100 percent for dose 1, and the average difference for dose 2 is 10 percent," he said.

Meanwhile, for the implementation of face-to-face learning (PTM), until now, the West Java Provincial Government still applies 100 percent of PTM. This is in accordance with a measured study and will be accompanied by random testing.

"PTM is still carried out 100 percent because we make decisions according to measurable information, including random testing at schools, where until now there have been no worrying cases," said Kang Emil.

As for the work from home (WFH) policy, it is adjusted to the PPKM level in each region. Currently 10 regions in West Java are at PPKM level 1, the remaining 17 regions are implementing PPKM level 2.

"When the majority is level 1, of course, there is no need for WFH because the situation is conducive, but if there is a level 2 who wants to go to level 3, then WFH will be enforced again," said Kang Emil.

To the public, Kang Emil constantly urges them to remain disciplined in carrying out health protocols while on the move. Vigilance, according to him, is very important.

"Don't worry too much. The important thing is to be vigilant, do strict procedures because life must remain productive," he said.
