Clashes In Sorong, Mayor Lambert Jitmau Immediately Contacted The Tribal Chief Urges Residents To Maintain Regional Security
SORONG - Sorong Mayor Lambert Jitmau asked the people of Sorong to refrain from maintaining the security and order situation there after clashes involving two groups. A total of 18 people died in this incident.
"As the regional head, I request that the tribal chiefs across the archipelago in the city of Sorong urge their citizens to jointly maintain the regional security situation," he said in Sorong, Antara, Tuesday, January 25.
Lambert said that Sorong is a common property. For this reason, everyone must maintain a security situation so that people can live in peace and prosperity.
He hoped this was the last incident in Sorong. "Let us all join hands and create a safe situation in the city of Sorong. Let this incident be handled professionally by the police," said the mayor.
The clash between two groups of residents in the city of Sorong stems from a misunderstanding at the Doubel0 karaoke which led to an attack on each other and resulted in the death of 18 people.
One person died as a result of being stabbed during a dispute and 17 people died of fire because they were trapped in a karaoke Doubel0 which was set on fire by the rioting crowd. The case is being handled by the police.
