After Bobby Nasution's Inspection, The Medan Transportation Agency Ordered Manual Parking In The E-Parking Area

MEDAN - Mayor of Medan, North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution stated that the Medan City Transportation Service (Dishub) is still controlling manual parking in the area of E-Parking (digital) implementation in this area.

"I received complaints from residents, parking officers quoted parking fees using E-Parking and manuals. This is not the parking attendant's fault, but the fault of the Medan City Transportation Agency who issued two task orders," said Bobby Nasution in Medan, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 25.

As a result, the public became confused about the dualism of parking mandates that occurred on Jalan Setia Budi, Tanjung Rejo Village, Medan Sunggal or in front of the Indonesian National Bank (BNI).

In fact, the implementation of E-Parking is an effort to overcome the leakage of local revenue (PAD) on Jalan Setia Budi along with 22 E-Parking locations in Medan City since October 18, 2021.

During an unannounced inspection of the Medan Mayor to the location on Monday, January 24, Bobby Nasution found that an honorary employee of the Medan City Transportation Agency asked for a parking deposit in excess of what was set by the manual parking attendant (jukir).

"The manual jukir should have deposited a parking deposit of Rp. 25,000 per day. However, the person asked for Rp. 30,000 to Rp. 40,000 per day," Bobby explained.

Mayor Bobby Nasution also admitted that he was worried that the PAD revenue from the roadside parking sector that was set this year would not be achieved, even though the parking potential in this area is quite large.

"I reminded Dishub, now in locations that have used E-Parking, it is starting to be loose and negligent in its application. There are still many people who use manual transactions," said Bobby.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Medan City Transportation Agency, Iswar Lubis, promised to resolve this issue within a few days, so that parking dualism will no longer be found at 65 points where E-Parking is implemented.

"God willing, starting today, I will instruct the Dishub staff to implement E-Parking in this area, both roadside and courtyard parking," he said.
