Military Personnel Remove Handgun When Being Reprimanded By The COVID-19 Task Force
SORONG - An unscrupulous member of the Indonesian Army, Pratu E, acted arrogantly by showing a gun to the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 in Sorong, West Papua. Pratu E is now being held by the military police.
This TNI member showed a gun because he did not receive a warning from a Task Force officer named Ilham who was in charge of serving entry permits for people with an interest at the post. Pratu E was reprimanded for wearing shorts in the office of the Mayor of Sorong, Tuesday, September 1.
"That person came here wearing shorts and I reprimanded him twice because this is a government office area," said Ilham as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, September 2.
After the service was finished, First Officer E came and rebuked Ilham. "That person actually took out his firearm from the pants in front of me," said Ilham.
The personnel of the Military Police Detachment XVIII / 1 Sorong have detained and questioned a member of the Indonesian Army, Pratu E, who was acting arrogantly by showing a gun.
The commander of the Sorong Military Police Detachment, Major CPM Irianto, confirmed that E was questioned by Military Police investigators for further legal proceedings.
Irianto stated that apart from E, they were also examining the witnesses of the case for further processing.
According to him, they are also investigating the types of firearms E used to frighten officers of the Sorong Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force.
"For members (soldiers) who hold firearms, there are procedures that must be met, not arbitrary. Complete the required documents according to the provisions," he said.
