3T Regions Will Experience Fast 4G Internet Soon!
JAKARTA - The Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI) belonging to the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) together with two cellular operators will soon build a 4G Base Transceiver Station (BTS) to serve people in the 3T (Front, Outermost and Disadvantaged) Region.
Later, a total of 9,113 BTS in the 3T Region will be built as an effort to distribute telecommunication services evenly. According to the Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G Plate, no one will be left behind to serve the community through the use of technology.
“No one will be left behind, that's the motto of the US Marines. Likewise in Indonesia, our motto and mission is that no one is left behind," said Johnny during a virtual BTS Cellular Service Provision Cooperation Contract in the 3T Region, Tuesday, January 25.
Now there are a total of 12,548 4G BTS to serve 12,548 villages and sub-districts covering 3T and non-3T Regions. Johnny also hopes that the presence of digital infrastructure can be put to good use.
"At the same time, we also indirectly assign all cellular operators to ensure that there are no blank spots in the non-3T area, commercial areas are 3,435 villages and sub-districts or a total of 12,548 villages and sub-districts in Indonesia," Johnny explained. .
In addition, Johnny also stated that building a 3T Region is not easy, the challenges are not only geographical challenges through mountains, hills, canyons, rivers, valleys, straits and seas.
But there are also cultural challenges where you have to adapt to local customs and customs, administrative bureaucratic challenges, both across ministries and agencies as well as working with provincial, district and city governments and even village governments.
"Obviously this is a job with extraordinary challenges, so these mandates must be carried out properly," said Johnny.
The development of digital infrastructure in all 3T regions in Indonesia will be divided into two categories. For the first category, Johnny stated that the construction includes 1,209 BTS which was built through the Universal Service Obligation (USO) scheme, namely pure rupiah fiscal support and Non-Tax State Revenue from the Ministry of Communication and Information.
"For the second category, namely 7,904, today's object of service cooperation is signed by two cellular operators Telkomsel and XL Axiata through blended financing between USO," said Johnny.
