Fulfilling Jokowi's Promise, BPN Hands Over Land Certificates For Mosque Waqf In Aceh
BANDA ACEH - Special staff of the Ministry of ATR/BPN M Adli Abdullah together with the Director of Cadastral Measurement and Mapping Tri Wibisono handed over two waqf land certificates for mosques and prayer rooms in Central Aceh District, Aceh Province.
"The granting of this waqf land certificate is President Joko Widodo's commitment through the Ministry of ATR/BPN," said Adli Abdullah in a statement in Banda Aceh, reported by Antara, Tuesday, January 25.
The waqf land certificate was given to the Sirajul Huda Mosque in Bebesen Sub-district which was received by the mosque's imam, and the Alfalah Mushalla in Kebayakan District, received directly by the local village head.
He said the main purpose of granting waqf land certificates was to ensure the legality of religious assets from the potential for loss or the threat of changing hands.
According to him, with an official certificate issued by the government, it is hoped that waqf assets can be ensured to be maintained. Then the legality is guaranteed and makes it easier to manage.
"One of the religious values that have been adopted in positive law is waqf property," he said.

He said that although waqf property is basically an Islamic religious affair, of course, its practice is also included in the realm of state law.
Therefore, he said, the Ministry of ATR/BPN continues to play an active role in facilitating and building good waqf infrastructure in Indonesia.
"Every one of us who plays a role in saving the waqf land will be very instrumental in saving religious assets for the benefit of the people," said Adli Abdullah.
