Disclosure Of 300 Kilograms Of Sabu In South Kalimantan: Will Be Spread To Java Island

JAKARTA - South Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Pol Nico Afinta said the evidence of 300 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine that was successfully uncovered on August 6 was suspected to be distributed to Java Island.

"The results of our inspection, these goods will be sent again for distribution to various regions, apart from being circulated in South Kalimantan, of course," said the Kapolda in Banjarbaru, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 2.

This was conveyed by Nico during the destruction of evidence of 300 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine at the SIM Satpas Polda of South Kalimantan Jalan Ahmad Yani Km 21 Banjarbaru.

According to Nico, the city of Banjarmasin in South Kalimantan has indeed become a distribution area as well as a transit in the international network of drug trafficking targeting Indonesia as its market.

For this reason, he said, the disclosure of the smuggling of 300 kilograms of shabu-shabu is an effort to save Indonesia as a whole.

"That's why we are fully supported by the National Police Headquarters and cooperate with other Polda-Polda in an effort to detect all entrances to drugs into Indonesia. One of them is Kalimantan Island which is prone to being a smuggling route from the Malaysian network," said the two-star general.

On the other hand, Nico also revealed that the bandar network had attempted to thwart the efforts of its members with the lure of money. But he salutes his members for surviving the temptation.

"These drugs have a lot of monetary value if they are sold by dealers. Even hundreds of billions, of course the dealers will tempt the authorities in all ways. But I applaud the members' determination to succeed in uncovering," he said.

Appreciation from the Governor of South Kalimantan, Sahbirin Noor

The disclosure of 300 kilograms of shabu-shabu by the South Kalimantan Police's Narcotics Research Directorate received an award from the Governor of South Kalimantan Sahbirin Noor and the Chairman of the South Kalimantan DPRD Supian HK.

The governor even helped a number of two-wheeled vehicles to operate as a token of appreciation which was received symbolically by the Director of the Drug Research of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Kombes Pol Iwan Eka Putra.

"How many hundred thousand and even millions of people have been saved from the dangers of this failed drug. Our salute for the extraordinary performance of the South Kalimantan Regional Police in eradicating the circulation of this damned goods," said Sahbirin Noor.

This arrest also broke the record in his own name (Polda Kalsel) which previously revealed 208 kilograms of shabu-shabu and 53,969 ecstasy pills on March 11, 2020.
