Aceh Police Detain Six People In Case Of Sabu Sabu 150 Kg

ACEH - A joint team from the Aceh Regional Police and their ranks in collaboration with Customs and Excise thwarted the smuggling of methamphetamine drugs weighing up to 150 kilograms.

The Aceh Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Ahmad Haydar, said that apart from methamphetamine, the joint team also thwarted the smuggling of 145,000 ecstasy pills and 20,000 happy five pills.

"In the smuggling operation, a joint team arrested six perpetrators. The perpetrators were arrested in three separate places in North Aceh Regency, East Aceh Regency, and Bireuen Regency on January 22, 2022," said Inspector General Ahmad Haydar in Banda Aceh, reported by Antara, Tuesday, January 25.

The six perpetrators were UH, MK, MJ, DK, RK, and IS. Apart from drugs, the joint team also provided evidence in the form of a motorboat, two cars, a motorcycle, and six mobile phones.

Kapolda said the perpetrators were from Indonesia and Malaysia. The disclosure of the drug smuggling started from information from the public. According to Inspector General Ahmad Haydar, there was a shipment of drugs via the Malacca Strait sea route that entered Aceh Province. From this information, the Aceh Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate team together with Customs and Excise combed the waters of Aceh.

"From the search, the joint team found the motor boat KM Putra Pesisir in Jambo Aye Waters, North Aceh Regency. Officers searched the ship and found 150 packets of tea with Chinese characters suspected of containing crystal methamphetamine," said the Kapolda.

In addition, said Inspector General Ahmad Haydar, officers also found three bags containing 35 packs of suspected ecstasy. The joint team also arrested three crew members with the initials UH, MJ, and MK

From the inspection of the crew, they departed Kuala Leugeu, East Aceh, headed for Malaysian waters and met a ship and handed over the drugs. They were ordered to take the prohibited items by the perpetrators of DK.

Based on the crew's confession, said the Kapolda, a joint team chased and arrested DK and RK. As well as arresting IS as the person who received the drugs brought by the crew of the ship.

Inspector General Ahmad Haydar said the perpetrators were charged with violating Article 114 Paragraph (2), Article 112 Paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics. The minimum sentence is five years in prison and the most severe is the death penalty

"With the disclosure of the smuggling efforts, 915 thousand Indonesians were saved from the dangers of drugs. In details, one gram of crystal methamphetamine can save five people, as well as one person for ecstasy and happy five pills," said Inspector General of Police Ahmad Haydar.
