Ganjar Says PPKM Is The Best Control Against Omicron: This Is A Wake Up Call, Everyone Is On Standby
BREBES - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo supports the central government's move to extend PPKM until January 31. According to Ganjar, PPKM is the right control system in dealing with the distribution of cases of the Omicron variant.
"Indeed, the control system is the best, we agree," said Ganjar in his statement after handing over the RSLH assistance, Tuesday, January 25.
Ganjar said that with the extension of the PPKM, people who initially felt and thought that COVID-19 had gone down, would be alert again.
"It's as if this has been completed even though the Omicron is busy and the graph is starting to improve, so PPKM control is really important. So what I say is a wake up call so 'hey hey there's a bell, you know, everyone is on standby,'" said Ganjar from the PDI-P.
To that end, Ganjar asked the community to reactivate Jogo Tonggo. The task force, said Ganjar, must also continue to wage guerrilla activities, especially to remind the public about health protocols. As well as the acceleration of vaccines, with priority for children aged 6-11 years, the elderly and people with comorbidities.
"Because this is a vulnerable group. On average, from the existing cases, the situation is quite fatal, they have not been vaccinated," he said.
Ganjar also continues to coordinate with the Regents and Mayors and asks the hospital to continue to update case data.
"I ask for help to be updated continuously, but we ask for the WGS (Whole Genome Sequencing) tool to be faster," said Ganjar during his activity in Brebes.
The effort was made in the hope that the findings of the omicron variant could be known more quickly. Ganjar said that the experience in the area where the Omicron variant was found was that the patient had recovered.
"The problem is one, it's taking a long time to test, so some cases that were found yesterday, such as in Semarang, for example, I communicated with the regents and mayors, Pak Hendi also explained, when we announced to the public the patient had recovered, then the one in Cilacap, Pekalongan We also convey, on average they have recovered," he said.
Even so, Ganjar emphasized that it should not be underestimated. The extension of the PPKM in the midst of the spread of the Omicron variant should make the public more careful.
"So actually we don't underestimate it, but we have to be careful," he said.
As is known, the government has extended the implementation of the Java-Bali Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) for the next week or on January 25-31, 2022. Coordinator of the Java-Bali PPKM, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that from the PPKM level, there was an increase in the number of districts/cities entering the PPKM level. 1.
