Police Arrested 2 Pistol Rifles Who Shoot Cat Rice Sellers In Demak

DEMAK - The Mijen Police Criminal Investigation Unit team arrested 2 robbers armed with airsoft guns to frighten their victims. Two people with the initials N (24) and ZA (34) were arrested from a total of 4 criminals.

The Demak Police Chief, AKBP Budi Adhy Buono, explained that the arrest of the perpetrators was based on reports from residents who were immediately followed up by conducting an investigation into the perpetrators.

The perpetrators carried out the robbery on Jalan Raya Mijen - Wedung, Jleper Village, Mijen District, Demak Regency, on Wednesday, January 19.

It didn't take long, the Mijen Police in collaboration with the Demak Police Resmob Unit then pursued the perpetrators until they finally caught the perpetrators at the same location.

"Less than 24 hours after committing the crime, the perpetrators were arrested while at the Bintoro Demak market on January 20, 2022. The other two perpetrators are still being chased by officers," said AKBP Budi during a press conference as quoted from a written statement by the Demak Police Public Relations. , Tuesday, January 25.

The victim of these robbers is a cat rice seller named Masrur (32), a resident of Jetak Village, Wedung District, Demak Regency. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right cheek

There is also a mode of crime committed by these perpetrators riding on a deserted road looking for potential victims. After getting the target, the perpetrators gave chase. Furthermore, in the middle of the road the perpetrators grabbed and shot the victim using an airsoft gun.

"The perpetrator shot the victim 4 times. In that incident, the victim increased the speed of his motorbike so that he managed to escape the burglary," continued AKBP Budi.

Based on the confessions of the perpetrators, the crime has been committed twice in the Demak area.

"Previously the perpetrators carried out the same action in Wedung District, on January 10, 2022 with the proceeds of a motorbike and the proceeds were used to buy an AI soft gun," he explained.

According to AKBP Budi, the perpetrator ZA was the person who did the shooting as well as the mastermind behind the violent theft.

"For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 53 of the Criminal Code regarding attempted theft with violence and or persecution with a threat of 9 years in prison," he said.
