Paris Hilton Says Metaverse Will Be Future Party Venue
JAKARTA – The top actress and socialite from the United States, Paris Hilton, plunged into the metaverse. Hilton calls the metaverse the “party of the future,” the virtual world will be a place where people interact.
Reporting from Cointelegraph, on January 25, 2022 Hilton was invited as a guest on the Tonight Show hosted by Jimmy Fallon. He discussed his experiences in the NFT community.
Paris Hilton revealed to Fallon that she will soon be launching her first NFT collection with Super Plastic in the Origin protocol. Hilton did not reveal in more detail the timing of the launch of its NFT work. For your information, Super Plastic is a vinyl toy and digital collectibles company.
She revealed the collection to the audience entitled “Forever Fairytale,” a collage of memories with her recently married husband, Carter Reum. He then awarded the first NFT in the collection to Falon, and an additional NFT for each member of the audience.
"I think it's the first NFT award in television history," Fallon said.
On January 18, Super Plastic released the NFT “Headtripz” collection, featuring the company's collaboration with Hilton.
While this will be his first collection, it will not be his first experience in the NFT world. In April 2021, Hilton sold her NFT “Iconic Crypto Queen” for US$1.1 million.
Hilton is not new to the cryptoverse. He told The Guardian that he had been investing in crypto since 2016 when Hilton was “friends with the founders of Ethereum.” Since then Hilton has started collecting 141 NFT items, including the popular ape-themed NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), and works by Grimes and Steve Aoki.
Paris Hilton enters the metaverse world on the Roblox platform during New Year's Eve 2021. In the virtual world of “Paris World”, she becomes a DJ in front of a crowd.
"I think it's important for people to not only be in the physical world but also be in the digital world," he told Bloomberg on Jan. 21.
Paris World is equipped with an amusement park, a zoo, a nightclub, and a mansion where users can buy clothes or just hang out on their yacht.
To date, the Metaverse island has only attracted a total of around 63,900 visitors according to Roblox statistics. In comparison, Roblox's "ALDC Studio" world inspired by the American reality TV show "Dance Moms" has garnered more than 30.5 million visitors.
Hilton has more than 55 million followers on her social media accounts on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat and Youtube.
Despite the disappointing statistics, Hilton said she remains hopeful for the island's future. “I see Paris World growing into a destination for events throughout the year – Valentine's Day, the Super Bowl, New York Fashion Week,” he said.
This millionaire heiress rose to prominence after the success of her reality TV program “The Simple Life” in 2003. She recently released a new show called “Paris in Love,” and a podcast called “This is Paris.”
