Searching Langkat Regent's House, KPK Reminds No Party To Obstruct The Investigation Process
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a search of the residence of the Regent of Langkat, who was not active in the issuance of the Wind War Plan. The search was carried out today.
"Currently, the team is still in the field and collecting evidence," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, to reporters, Tuesday, January 25.
It has not been informed what investigators have obtained from Terbit's residence. However, Ali asked that no one obstruct the investigation of the alleged bribery related to the infrastructure project in Langkat Regency, North Sumatra.
Ali reminded those who try to obstruct the investigation process can be subject to criminal sanctions.
"KPK reminds anyone that it is forbidden to intentionally obstruct and try to thwart the process of investigating this case. We do not hesitate to apply the provisions of Article 21 of the Anti-Corruption Law," he stressed.
As previously reported, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named the Langkat Regent Publishing a Plan for Warring Angin as a suspect in bribery related to infrastructure projects. This decision was made after the anti-corruption commission held an OTT on Tuesday, January 18.
He was named along with four other suspects, namely the Village Head of Balai Kasih who is the brother of Terbit Plan, Iskandar PA; and three private persons or contractors, namely Marcos Surya Abdi, Shuhandra Citra, and Isfi Syahfitra. Then as a bribe giver is Muara Warin Angin which is a private party or contractor.
When revealing the chronology of the arrests, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, said that Terbit had fled with his brother who is also a suspect, Iskandar. However, he eventually turned himself in to the Binjai Police, North Sumatra and was then taken to the KPK's Red and White building.
