5 People Who Are Suspects In The Elderly Beating Case In Pulogadung Claim To Be Provoked
JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) has named five suspects in the case of beating the elderly (elderly) Wiyanto Halim (89) who was killed by a mob on Jalan Pulo Kambing Raya, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, Sunday, January 23, around at 02.00 WIB.
The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Endra Zulpan said that as many as five people were named suspects in the case of violence.
"The five suspects have the initials TJ (21), JI (23), RYN (23), MA (18) and MJ (18). These five suspects have no connection with the background of the victim," said Kombes Zulpan to VOI at East Jakarta Police Headquarters, Tuesday, January 25.
Kombes Zulpan detailed the roles played by the five suspects. The suspect's initials TJ (21) played a role in kicking the car, kicking the victim with his right leg towards the waist and into the stomach.
The suspect's initials, JI (23), kicked the victim's upper body with his right foot. The suspect's initials RYN (23) played a role in kicking the car with his right foot and forcibly pulling the victim's right hand using both hands while the victim was in the car until the victim got out of the car.
"The suspect, RYN, also hit the victim's head with his hand and it was recorded on a video owned by investigators," he said.
Meanwhile, the suspect's initials MA (18) stepped on the windshield and the suspect's initials MJ (18) played a role in kicking the victim and the car.
"There are witnesses who witnessed," he said.
Even though five people have been named as suspects in the beatings, the investigation process will continue.
"We will continue to develop more related to other perpetrators. Because based on the CCTV footage that was owned at the time of the beating against the victim, it was possible that more than five people were involved," he said.
Members of the East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit are also still searching and pursuing people who were at the crime scene at the time of the incident.
"We already have the data. So that the main motive will be found if we have arrested all the people at the crime scene," he said.
Meanwhile, the five suspects, continued Kombes Zulpan, they were proven and admitted to committing violent crimes.
"They admit that they did it as a result of provocation. The five suspects were charged with Article 170 paragraph 1 and paragraph 2. In conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code, the threat is 112 years in prison," he said.
